I haven't been keeping myself too busy this year as I'm trying to keep myself stress free if possible. The only thing I have been doing more this year is reading a lot more books which I haven't been keeping up with the past few years. This year will be a memorable year for me and hubby as we are going to have a baby thus the stress free life if possible.
Really excited about the baby coming into our life and at the same time a little worry about it as well. I believe we are both prepare to welcome a little one into our lives already, probably just the first timer phobia since I'm not 100% sure we are able to cope with it. Everyone I have been talking to keep telling me that things will be ok and we will learn as we go along. I'm trying to stay positive.
I'm already at 23 weeks as of today, belly is getting bigger and rounder as well. As usual the first question I will be getting from people who know that I'm having a baby is whether the baby is a boy or girl. My baby is still playing hide and seek with me thus I haven't find out yet. All I really wish for is for a healthy and happy baby. Boy or girl does not really matter to me in fact.
So far (touch wood) everything has been going on smoothly for me, no morning sickness for me at all. When most pregnant women are busy with their morning sickness I have been busy eating. I always know that I'm a big eater, nonetheless I never realize that I can have even bigger appetite. I was always hungry in the first trimester, need to fill up every couple hours to make sure that I didn't faint in the middle of the day. My belly didn't show until around 16 weeks when people start congratulating me without me sharing the good news.
This year seems like a good year for having baby, so many friends and co-workers around me are going to welcome new baby into their lives as well. I hope all babies will be healthy.

2 years of life
I'm trying to think really hard, what major events happens for the last 2 years, it is really not easy to just have it pop up.
Let's see...
1- We had 2 new additions in the family, my 2 very beautiful nieces of whom I adores. Muacks Qing and Sophia.
2- Learned how to do a S-turn for snowboarding after years, oh well I guess I'm just slow at sports.
3- Spent couple weeks over Christmas in 2009 at my sister since she gave birth to baby Sophia. Caught up with an old friend whom I haven't seen for years, spent some girly time with her shopping, eating and exploring New York. Skipped the countdown at Times Square since I didn't want to get my butt freezed up, so just watched it on TV.
3- Celebrated Dad's 80th birthday last year with a buffet dinner at home, met relatives that I haven't seen in ages and gosh how time flies because I didn't know there are so many kids now in the extended family and elderly has more white on their head now too.
4- Took a trip to Taipei, Taiwan for my wedding photoshoot last year. Once in a lifetime, even though I didn't have a big wedding celebration wanted to have something to remind me of the significant event in my life. People there made it a fun time too.
5- Took a trip to Bali, Indonesia last year, however what people normally remember from a trip to Bali didn't happen for me. All I remember was kids crying :).
6- Got married last year, FINALLY. With a small celebration as I'm too old for those fancy wedding planning.
So far that is all I remember for major events that happened in the last 2 years. I might keep coming back to update this post from time to time when I recall something new.

Spring brings good news, happy news ...
... got woke up by a phone call on Saturday morning, granted that it was already time to get up since it was 10.30 a.m. already :P however I was so grumpy because the first thought that came to my mind was that people from work was calling me again.
My grumpy hello wasn't greeted too well by the person on the other side of the phone, my big sister. As always, the first word that blurted out from her was, 'What time is it already, and you are still in bed?' and on it goes. Oops.. I shouldn't had been that grumpy and asked for a lesson early in the morning.
Next thing you know, she became bubbly and told me that I'm going to be an 'Ah Yi' again. I paused for a minute or two and my mind just didn't catch what she was trying to tell me. So, she repeated herself. Ah... then it clicked, she is having a baby. Indeed it was a good morning, a true blessing since she has been hoping for a baby for years already. It somehow remind me never to give up hope in anything that you do even if the chance is so slim that it will ever happens.
Not sure whether it is going to be a boy or girl right now, all I know is that we will be welcoming the baby sometime in December. My heart is so happy just blogging about this.

Lobster Sashimi Anyone?
I was sorting photos and came across this one that was taken during one of our fancy meal that my brother brought us to at Ah Yat Abalone in Jakarta. Oh my, it is the best sashimi I have ever had thus far, lobster sashimi. The taste and texture of it is incredible. However don't ask me what is the name of that lobster, can't really recall :).

In my life so far, I have been introduce to a lot of exotic seafood by my brother who is working in F&B industry. Lucky me I would say, if it is not because of my brother I probably would not go to the restaurant and order those food.
Another sashimi that I really like is Geoduck Sashimi. Forgot a photo of it last time we were at the restaurant. You probably ask what is the big pot in the photo for, well, if you look carefully my mom is in the photo as well. She is definitely not going to miss out on the fabulous food. That pot is for her since she doesn't eat raw food. She had lobster shabu shabu instead.

Hello Boy!
I called home yesterday and a little voice of 'halo' answer the phone. It was so cute and it just melts my heart. Next thing you know he is baby talking to me, not that I understand a word of it. It is time like this that I miss home so much. I would like to be just like any aunt to see their nephew grows up, babysit when their parents need to go out for whatever reason and etc etc.
Mom said he is growing up so fast that now he throws tantrums so much and sometime even gets mad at his daddy for scolding him. Like father like son I would say, since both has the same tantrums. Oh, how I miss being there seeing it all. Maybe it is a good thing as well that I'm not there, else boy, he is going to get even more pampering.

This is around 19 months old
Wonder what sort of new tricks he is going to show me when I see him next time. Probably he would be able to talk much more by then.

Only For You
Normally, we always see bride-to-be making their own hand bouquet for the special day. Would it make it more special if you get a hand bouquet made by your husband-to-be? Recently, a friend and husband-to-be made this hand bouquet for his bride-to-be. It is so touching that a guy would actually take time to come up with something from the heart.

Action always speak louder than words. Doesn't it just make you envious of the bride-to-be?

It's a Girl
Wait... don't misunderstand just yet. I'm not pregnant.
I just want to share my joy after reading the text. It was news from home that is is going to be a girl this time around for my brother's baby. Daddy must be really happy to get a baby girl and that little girl is so going to be a daddy's girl.
Indeed, I'm very happy to get a niece as well. Now I get to go shopping and by those cute, pink color dresses and not to mention those tiny baby girl shoes *grin*. Cuteness overloaded, all of them. They are just so eye catchy compare to baby boy clothes. I can't help myself, of course the baby brother will still get his pressies from this aunt.
May the baby continue to grow healthy in mama's womb.

Fleet Week Weekend
The annual Fleet Week started last Thursday and will last until tomorrow. Over the weekend they have the air show, it's one of the major attraction of Fleet Week. Every year for the past couple years, I have plan to go and see the air show however for one reason or another I have never made it. So, when a friend asked me whether I would like to tag along to see the air show this year, of course I said yes without any doubt. I have to go this year since it was given so much rave review by everyone who go to the show each year.
Rise and shine early on Sunday since we have decided to bike as usual and need to take the first train in the morning to beat the crowd. Surprise, surprise we made it to the train station with more than 10 minutes to spare instead of the usual late arrival or just in time arrival.
We got to San Francisco an hour before the show schedule start time so we decided to brunch at 'In & Out', my favorite burger joint. If you are here in California and you do eat beef burger, it is a must try. Instead of my usual cheeseburger, since I don't feel cheesy that morning, I had a hamburger instead.

Doesn't it looks good ? Yummy, yummy...
Along the way you will see stalls like this, a little souvenirs for the tourist and food for the empty stomach.

As for the air show, they have aerial demonstrations by the Navy's Blue Angels, Team Oracle, and the Air Force's F-16 Demonstration Team. Here are some photos of the air show, a little blurry of course since I'm using PnS instead of DSLR. I didn't bother with my DSLR as I don't have an ultimate zoom lense :(.

The Blue Angels flying

They even make a heart with a cupid over it
It was not as crowded early on in the show, compare to when the Blue Angels is schedule to fly. The Blue Angels are the highlight of the air show. Whoa, everyone was cheering on when they flew in. It was so loud and fast.

For more information about the event, visit the Fleet Week Official Site to see whether you plan to attend the event next year.

Jakarta, Indonesia
A little disappointed with myself during this trip because I did not take enough photos. I was too busy playing with my little nephew rather than my camera. Jakarta is not even remotely close to what I picture in my mind before I got there. In my imagination, it is very similar to KL since it is the capital of Indonesia. Reality is, it is still far from it. When I looked down from my hotel room this is what I see, not many high rise buildings and most of them are crowded together.

On the street, there are a lot of those motorbike pedicab zooming in and out of the traffic. The one thing that capture my attention is their public bus stop. It looks more like one of those subway, or train platform and it's covers so you do not need to stand under the sun and smell the bad traffic emission gas. Too bad I do not have one to show you here.
Majority of this trip we spend exploring food. Aside from food, we went to visit a safari park, a volcano and outlet in Bandung.

It was a great trip to be able to spend time with family, although we did not visit a lot of tourist spot. One thing that is missing from this trip is a visit to buy some handicraft souvenier since I heard it is really cheap to buy handicraft in Indonesia. Next trip I shall go and visit Bali for the thing that I miss out this time.

Just Us!!
Yesterday I was looking through those photos I took when I was home couple weeks ago and came across this photo.
It's a photo of us siblings. For some reason I can't get my eyes off it and images of my childhood flash through my mind. My older sister is 6 years older than me and my brothers, one of them is 5 years older and the other one is one year older than me. While growing up I spent more time with the one who is closer to my age maybe because of the age gap. Older sister and brother left home when I entered high school. We are still very close to one another despite us living in different countries nowadays. I always believe that it's the blood that is flowing in our body that bonds us together.
We don't take photo that much together however I think we should start doing that more. This one was taken at Taman Safari at Puncak, Indonesia. I can tell you that even grown up can have so much fun at the Safari Park.

Next Station: Malaysia & Indonesia
Countdown: 3 days
I will be leaving for my yearly trip to go home to visit mom and dad. Although I go home every year (or once in 2 year, if I can't make it), I'm ever so excited about going home. No matter how far I'm away, deep down HOME to me is still back in the small town call Sitiawan. A place that give me warm and peace. As the saying goes, there is no place else like home and I agree.
This time I will be taking a short trip to Jakarta as well. Don't really know what to expect of Jakarta however, I do love the kueh lapis there. So, I guess I will have to judge after the trip.
Everyone of us would be home this time for mom's big 70 birthday, so this shall be a fun trip. So much catching up to do... ah, can't wait. Also can't wait to see this cutie at home.
